Student therapists provide services under the supervision of qualified, licensed, doctoral-level clinical faculty selected by the Department of Psychology to fulfill these supervisory and teaching functions. However, most insurance companies do not reimburse clients for services provided by students, trainees, interns or other unlicensed individuals even when that person is under direct supervision.
